How to Record a Zoom Presentation With Your Webcam & Slides
Zoom can record a meeting, but it is not built for producing a clean, async presentation video where your slides take center stage and your face is a picture-in-picture. SlideStage gives you that control without starting a meeting or uploading anything to the cloud.
1. Export your deck as a PDF
Whether your slides are in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote or Canva, export them as a PDF. Each slide becomes one page. If you rely on animations, duplicate the slide before exporting so each stage appears as its own page.
2. Load the PDF into SlideStage
Open SlideStage and drop the PDF onto the upload area. The slides are rendered locally in your browser — no meeting, no cloud upload, and no waiting. Image folders work too if you have already exported slides as PNG or JPG.
3. Turn on camera and microphone
Grant camera and microphone access when prompted. You get a draggable webcam bubble so you can place your face exactly where you want it. For a Zoom-style presentation recording, place the bubble near the top or side so your eyes stay close to the camera while you read the slides.
4. Add an optional script (not recorded)
Paste your talking points into the teleprompter. It stays on screen for you but is never captured in the final video, so you can deliver a polished take without the audience knowing you are reading.
5. Record while advancing through slides
Press start and move through the deck with the arrow keys or the floating controls. The controls, the teleprompter and any upload UI are kept above the captured canvas, so the final video is just your slides, voice and webcam. Pause and resume as needed.
6. Download your finished video
Finish and save the file. You get a single WebM video that converts to MP4 in seconds if you need that format for a learning management system, video host, or social platform.
