How to Record a PowerPoint Presentation With Webcam & Audio
PowerPoint has a built-in “Record” tab, but it only works inside the desktop app and can be unreliable when you want both your webcam and your voice in one shareable video. The simplest way to record a PowerPoint presentation with audio and video is to export the deck and record it locally in your browser.
1. Export PowerPoint as a PDF
Open your deck and choose File → Export → Create PDF/XPS Document. Click "Options" and make sure "Publish what" is set to "Slides." Animations and transitions will be flattened into static pages, so if a build-up is important, duplicate the slide first so each stage exports as its own page.
2. Load the PDF into SlideStage
Open SlideStage and drop the PDF in. The pages are rendered locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server. You can also use a folder of PNG or JPG images if your slides are already exported as pictures.
3. Turn on camera and microphone
Grant camera and microphone access when prompted. You will see a small webcam bubble you can drag to a corner that does not block your content. 5. Record while advancing through slides
Press start, then use the arrow keys or the on-stage controls to move through slides. Only the slide, your voice and your webcam are recorded — the controls and teleprompter stay off-screen. Pause anytime if you need to regroup.
6. Download your finished video
